Giving your movement purpose

Time, money or sweat. However you're able to give, it goes to the same place: a rare community that shouldn't have to do this alone.

Sweat

Use your mobility to benefit those without it

Rare ACTIVists

Run, ride or swim, competitively or just for the fun of it, and turn it into fundraising and awareness. Ride Joburg, Swim4Sadie, Run4Rare,  or an event of your own.

Get active

Upcoming events

See what's coming up, from organised rides to community days, and pick something to train for.

Time

Hands, hours and the work that keeps things running

Volunteer

Events need hands. So does admin, packing, and the unglamorous work that keeps a non-profit running. If you have time to give, we'll find a good use for it.

Charity Champion

People who raise funds and awareness in their own communities, in their own way. Birthday fundraisers, work collections, school drives, whatever fits your life.

Money

Direct funding for navigation, resources and community work.

Donate

One-off or monthly. Monthly giving is what lets us plan ahead, keep navigators employed, and still be answering the phone in six months' time. Every donation is Section 18A tax deductible.

Rare Bear Project

A handmade bear that does two jobs: it goes to a child in the rare community, and it pays a woman in Kya Sands for making it. Of every R200, R180 goes straight to the maker.

Where your money goes

As a registered PBO, we issue Section 18A tax certificates, so your donation is tax deductible. We are a registered NPO, NPC and PBO, and our financials are available on request.
