About the Event

Gastroparesis, also known as delayed gastric emptying, is a medical condition characterized by weak muscular contractions of the stomach (peristalsis), resulting in food and liquid remaining in the stomach for an extended period of time. As a result, stomach contents move more slowly into the duodenum of the digestive tract. This can lead to irregular nutrient absorption, inadequate nutrition, and poor glycemic control.
