About the Event

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is observed annually on December 3rd to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities and to raise awareness about their situation in society.

Significance and Purpose

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1992. This day aims to mobilize support for critical issues related to the inclusion of persons with disabilities, promote awareness of disability issues, and highlight the benefits of an inclusive and accessible society for all. It serves as a platform to advocate for the rights of individuals with disabilities and to encourage their full participation in all aspects of life, including political, social, economic, and cultural spheres.
