About the Event

National Grief Awareness Week is observed annually from December 2nd to December 8th, aiming to raise awareness about grief and provide support for those affected by loss.

Purpose and Significance

National Grief Awareness Week is dedicated to raising awareness about grief, breaking the stigma surrounding it, and fostering understanding of the grieving process. It acknowledges that grief is a natural response to loss and encourages open conversations about this often-sensitive topic. The week serves as a reminder that support is available for those who are grieving and that it is important to acknowledge and address grief openly and compassionately.
