Statement of Intent of The Rare Diseases Working Group

The Rare Disease Access Initiative (RDAI), outlined in our Statement of Intent addresses the pressing challenges surrounding rare disease care within the healthcare landscape of South Africa.

Our intent is to establish a collaborative working group comprised of medical schemes, medical administrators, managed care companies, pharmaceutical and medical technology industries, and rare disease patient associations to address the challenges faced by rare disease patients in South Africa. Together, we seek to develop a comprehensive framework that ensures improved access, treatment, and sustainability for rare disease patients in our country.
