A Father's Strength: A Tribute to My Dad this Father’s Day

When people ask me where my strength comes from, I often smile—because the truth is, it started with my dad.

Living with a rare disease means facing uncertainty, navigating challenges, and learning to adapt every single day. But from the very beginning, my dad has been my constant. He may not always say much, but his presence speaks volumes.

He has been the quiet force behind so many of my milestones—celebrating the highs and standing steady through the lows. Whether it was lifting me into my wheelchair without complaint, making sure my car was ready for the next adventure, or simply sitting with me when words weren’t needed, he showed me that love isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s in the daily acts of care, patience, and sacrifice.

As a caregiver, protector, and encourager, my dad has given me more than support—he’s given me belief. Belief that I can do anything. Belief that I am never alone.

To every father walking beside a rare disease warrior, know this: your role matters more than you may ever realize. Your strength becomes our strength. Your love becomes our light.

Happy Father’s Day, Dad. Thank you for walking every step of this journey with me. I love you more than words can ever say.
